<p>According to a new note from reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo at KGI Securities and corroborated by our sources, Apple plans to introduce a dramatically overhauled MacBook Pro later this year. Kuo says the device will have a new “thinner and lighter” design with design cues taken from the 12-inch MacBook, as well as Touch ID support and a new OLED display touch bar above the keyboard.</p>

<p>Every so often we see a prototype Apple product hit eBay and go for an astronomical amount of money. Today, a “vintage” iPhone 6 prototype with a red Lightning connector has surfaced on eBay. The listing just went up earlier today and has a starting price of $4,999. But expect it to go for much higher than that.</p>

<p>Over the weekend we saw a trio of iPhone 7 leaks showing the redesigned antenna lines, dual-camera module, speaker grilles, and a new 256GB storage chip. Now, <a href="http://apple.hdblog.it/2016/05/23/Nuovo-leak-fabbriche-cinesi-iPhone-7/">HDBlog</a> has uncovered a new set of images from Chinese web forum Baidu claiming to show schematics for both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The images show the dual-camera being exclusive to the larger model, while Smart Connector holes are nowhere to be seen.</p>

<p>If you read our <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/05/08/review-audio-technica-ath-m50x-headphones/">review of the ATH-M50x</a> closed-back headphones, I made it pretty clear that I was a fan of what Audio-Technica was offering. The ATH-M50x’s are well-known for giving Beats By Dre headphones a run for their money, and at a much more affordable price.</p>
<p>I also had the opportunity to go hands-on with one of Audio-Technica’s newest offerings, the ATH-MSR7NC. These noise-cancelling cans differ in many ways from the company’s mainstream offering, and at more than <a href="http://amzn.to/1YzYj98">double the price of the M50x’s</a>, venture into more premium territory. Should you consider them? <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/05/23/review-audio-technica-ath-msr7nc-noise-cancelling-headphones/#more-431267" class="more-link">more…</a></p><br />Filed under: <a href='http://9to5mac.com/category/reviews/'>Reviews</a> Tagged: <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/active-noise-cancellation/'>active noise cancellation</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/audio-technica/'>audio-technica</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/audio-technica-msr7nc/'>Audio-Technica MSR7NC</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/headphones/'>headphones</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/iphone-accessories/'>iPhone accessories</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/review/'>review</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/video/'>video</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gocomments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/comments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godelicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/delicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gofacebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/facebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gotwitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/twitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gostumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/stumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godigg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/digg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/goreddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/reddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431267/" /></a> <img alt="" border="0" src="http://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=431267&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" /><img alt="" border="0" src="http://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=431267&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" />Mon, 23 May 2016 20:08:21 +00009to5MacRide sharing service Lyft testing scheduled pickups from mobile app

<p>Safari has changed the way it handles bookmarks and open tabs over the last few versions, which has required me to slightly adjust my workflow each time. The change in behavior is small but one I’ve noticed.</p>
<p>Bookmark folders in Safari on the Mac have an ‘Open in New Tabs’ option that when clicked opens each saved website in its own tab using a single Safari window. A couple of versions back, this button would replace all open tabs with just the bookmarked websites in that folder.</p>

<p><a href="http://9to5mac.com/tag/spotify/" target="_blank">Spotify</a> is clearly feeling the competition from <a href="http://9to5mac.com/tag/apple-music/" target="_blank">Apple Music</a>, and is now matching the Cupertino company’s family deal of $14.99 per month for up to six family members. This literally halves the cost of Spotify’s previous family membership, as well as extending it from five to six people …</p>

http://9to5mac.com/2016/05/23/report-apple-orders-supply-chain-to-produce-72-78-million-iphone-7-units-this-year-significantly-above-analyst-estimates/
Mon, 23 May 2016 13:19:34 +0000<div class="feat-image"><img src="https://9to5mac.files.wordpress.com/2016/05/iphone-7-dual-camera-render.png?w=1600&h=1000" /></div>
<p>A new report from <a href="http://udn.com/news/story/7240/1712679-i7鏈吞大單-打臉市場預估">Economic Daily News</a> is shining some positive news on the Apple iPhone outlook, after several months of narratives regarding slowing iPhone growth. The report suggests that Apple has ordered production of around 72-78 million iPhone 7 devices this year, significantly above analyst estimates.</p>
<p>The 72-78 million target is in fact a record for iPhone production in recent years, implying that the iPhone 7 could return Apple’s smartphone division to sales growth later in the year. Apple supply chain partners are booming today in the markets following the news; Pegatron stock is currently up 10%. Consensus from analysts had expected production circa 65 million, so a jump in ten million units is significant.</p>

Most interestingly in this picture is the new rear camera — it appears to be bevelled and protrude outwards. The camera is also aligned differently compared to current iPhones; it is positioned closer to the top-left corner. The camera hole also appears to be slightly larger than the current 12 megapixel shooter in the <a href="http://amzn.to/1XwGlpG">iPhone 6s</a>. Unfortunately, people hoping for the camera bump to go away will be disappointed with this leak, as it suggests the bump will continue to be a part of iPhone design for at least another year.</p>
<p>On the positive side, the new design of the camera does suggest that substantial improvements to photo and video quality are on the cards. Whether the image truly shows an actual iPhone 7 back (not merely a dummy case) is hard to assert due to the low-resolution but the design <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/03/13/purported-iphone-7-chassis-pictures-show-redesigned-antenna-lines-new-larger-camera/">mirrors previously-leaked schematics</a>. The same source correctly leaked the iPhone 6 design too, adding to its legitimacy. More photos below …</p>

An Italian case manufacturer is showing a potential chassis design that features ‘four speakers’ and new layout for the rear camera and flash, including a hole for a larger aperture (<a href="http://www.nowhereelse.fr/iphone-7-photos-prototype-italien-114025/">via NowhereElse</a>). As pictured, there are two speaker grilles cut into the top of the case and another two grilles on the bottom side.</p>
<p>This is not corroborating with previous leaks, that showed an iPhone 7 design near identical to the <a href="http://amzn.to/1XwGlpG">existing iPhone 6s</a>. The rearrangement of the flash is particularly unusual although the larger camera hole has been suggested by previous leaks. As expected, the case leaks do not include holes for a 3.5 mm headphone jack which is rumored to be going away for the iPhone 7 — Apple will rely on Lightning connector and Bluetooth wireless headphones for audio output ..</p>

<p>Yesterday, I bought a 12″ MacBook, and after playing with it for 10 minutes, I immediately knew that I made the right decision. 24 hours later, I’m convinced that this is the best laptop for me, and a much better portable workhorse than something like a 12.9″ iPad Pro. Here are 10 reasons why you should consider going with a MacBook if you’re in the market for something powerful, yet portable. <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/05/21/10-reasons-consider-2016-retina-macbook/#more-431683" class="more-link">more…</a></p><br />Filed under: <a href='http://9to5mac.com/category/mac/'>Mac</a> Tagged: <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/12-macbook/'>12" MacBook</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/mac/'>Mac</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/mac-os-x/'>Mac OS X</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/macbook/'>MacBook</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/opinion/'>Opinion</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/os-x/'>OS X</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/retina-display/'>Retina Display</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/video/'>video</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gocomments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/comments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godelicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/delicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gofacebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/facebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gotwitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/twitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gostumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/stumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godigg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/digg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/goreddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/reddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/431683/" /></a> <img alt="" border="0" src="http://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=431683&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" /><img alt="" border="0" src="http://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=431683&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" />Sat, 21 May 2016 16:12:33 +00009to5MacLatest iPhone 7 Plus component leak shows dual-camera module, new 256GB storage option

<p>Earlier this week, <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/05/17/apple-iphone-7-images-camera-laser-focus/">we saw a leaked image appear</a> showing the 4.7-inch model and its potential support for laser auto focus. It’s been <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/05/11/kgi-apple-iphone-7-plus-5-5-inch-dual-camera-3gb-ram/">rumored for a while now that the iPhone 7 Plus</a>, however, will see even more camera updates with a new dual-camera setup on the back. In March, <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/03/13/purported-iphone-7-chassis-pictures-show-redesigned-antenna-lines-new-larger-camera/">leaked images emerged claiming</a> to show the alleged dual-camera module and now a new leak from Weibo has emerged corroborating the earlier images and showing potential for a 256GB storage tier (via <a href="https://twitter.com/stagueve/status/733956830746054657">Steven Hemmerstoffer</a>).</p>

Fri, 20 May 2016 20:00:05 +0000<div class="feat-image"><img src="https://9to5mac.files.wordpress.com/2016/05/img_24661.jpg?w=1600&h=900" /></div><p class="p1">I’m not a major believer that Apple’s iOS devices can quite fully replace the PC and Mac in most scenarios, at least not for me, and not quite yet. I’m a keyboard fiend, using shortcuts on the keyboard almost more often than I use my mouse. These doubts were ready to be tested when I saw the progress that iOS 9 brought for third-party developers within the iOS ecosystem. With the new SDK, developers were getting the chance to integrate keyboard shortcuts into their iOS apps just like a Mac app. It was then that I knew it was time to start looking for a portable keyboard to take around with me.</p>
<p class="p2"><span class="s1">This presented a new problem for me. There’s a vast amount of Bluetooth keyboards out there, and I didn’t want to just carry Apple’s bulky Bluetooth Keyboard around. I needed something with a full keyboard size, good battery life, and durability. After a few months of searching, and reluctance on spending money on what I considered an unknown, I gave up my hunt.</span></p>
<p class="p2"><span class="s1">I nearly forgot about my keyboard journey until a few months when iClever reached out to me asking if I wanted to take a look at their iOS compatible Bluetooth accessories. I gladly accepted the offer, and began by taking a look at their <a href="http://amzn.to/1TgreRr"><span class="s2">Tri-Folding Bluetooth Keyboard</span></a>. Everything I read online from the <a href="http://amzn.to/1TgreRr"><span class="s2">listing on Amazon</span></a> made it seem like it could fit neatly into everything I had been previously searching for, so I was excited to get my hands on it.</span></p>
