<p>Yesterday we <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/27/iphone-7-space-black-not-deep-blue/">reported on an anonymous tip we received</a> claiming the iPhone 7 will feature a Home button that uses haptic feedback to simulate a click. The source claimed that it would use the same approach as Force Touch. Now, analysts from Cowen and Company are corborrating that report (via <a href="http://uk.businessinsider.com/cowen-iphone-7-to-have-force-touch-home-button-2016-6?r=US&IR=T">Business Insider</a>).</p>

<p>The MacBook, with its single USB-C port, is quite limited when it comes to connectivity, but an external adapter can help. Enter <a href="http://amzn.to/298kAfX">Minix’s NEO C USB-C Multiport Adapter</a>. It features two USB 3 ports, an Ethernet port, HDMI port, SD Card slot, and a microSD slot. It also features a USB-C input for pass-through charging.</p>
<p>Is it a good choice for MacBook owners? Watch our hands-on video coverage for the details. <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/28/review-minix-neo-c-usb-c-multiport-adapter-video/#more-436836" class="more-link">more…</a></p><br />Filed under: <a href='http://9to5mac.com/category/apple/'>Apple</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gocomments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/comments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godelicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/delicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gofacebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/facebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gotwitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/twitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gostumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/stumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godigg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/digg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/goreddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/reddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/436836/" /></a> <img alt="" border="0" src="http://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=436836&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" /><img alt="" border="0" src="http://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=436836&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" />Tue, 28 Jun 2016 15:39:00 +00009to5MacNancy Pelosi says ‘Poor Tim’ Cook fundraising for Paul Ryan suggests Apple CEO got bad advice

<p>House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is not happy with Tim Cook’s fundraiser for House Speaker Paul Ryan today. The <em>San Francisco Chronicle </em><a href="http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Pelosi-tees-off-on-Apple-chief-for-GOP-fundraiser-8328574.php#photo-10457917">reports</a> that the Democratic Party leader commented when asked about the event this morning that the Apple CEO is being advised poorly:</p>
<blockquote><p>“Poor Tim. What a nice guy he is, but somebody gave him bad advice,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, said at the end of an animated 15-minute phone interview Monday evening. “He probably doesn’t think that much about politics.”</p></blockquote>
<p>Politico reported the Cook political fundraiser <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/20/apple-tim-cook-paul-ryan-fundraiser/">last week</a>, which benefits Paul Ryan as well as other Republican Party members seeking reelection in the House of Representatives.</p>

<p>Noise-cancelling headphones are great when you just want to eliminate all outside noise, as you might on board a plane, but there are times when you want to be able to block <em>most</em> outside noise, but not all. Being able to hear car engines while cycling, or announcements while on a train, for example. That’s what the Here One wireless earbuds are designed to do.</p>
<p>The company says it uses smart noise filters to provide what it calls ‘layered listening.’</p>

<p>One of the things that really spoils live concerts these days is that half the people there don’t seem to want to watch it live at all – they’d rather watch it through their phone screen, holding the device up and blocking the view of those behind them. This is a problem Apple is seeking to solve in a patent first applied for in 2011 and granted today …</p>

<p>Setting up a new iPhone or iPad by restoring from an <a href="http://9to5mac.com/guides/icloud-backup/" target="_blank">iCloud backup</a> has the virtue that you can do it from anywhere – without needing a Mac with an iTunes backup to hand – but it can be painfully slow, and it’s always the app you most want to use that seems to be the last to download.</p>

<p><em><a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/us-southkorea-apple-idUSKCN0ZE07H" target="_blank">Reuters</a></em> reports that South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission (FTC) is investigating Apple for possible anti-competitive practices in the country. This appears to support an earlier unconfirmed report in <a href="http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/tech/2016/06/133_207542.html" target="_blank"><em>Korea Times</em></a> that FTC was examining the legality of Apple’s contract terms with mobile carriers.</p>
<blockquote>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Sources said Apple Korea has pressed carriers into buying a minimum volume of promotional iPhones and sharing the burden of repair costs […]</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">In April, the FTC ordered the rectification of 20 unfair provisions in contracts with its certified repair service partners. The contracts included stipulations that the repair firms could not file lawsuits against Apple Korea within a year after any dispute.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p>If this sounds familiar, it’s because it echoes an earlier case in France …</p>

<p>The folks over at Monowear sent over one of its bands for me to try, and I shot a brief video showcasing the band in action. Monowear makes several band styles from leather, mesh, nylon and metal. The band it sent over is a brown leather band featuring a handy deployant clasp. The deployant clasp creates a perpetual look that makes the leather band super-easy to put on and take off. Have a look at our video review inside to see it in action. <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/27/review-monowear-brown-leather-deployant-band-for-apple-watch-video/#more-437101" class="more-link">more…</a></p><br />Filed under: <a href='http://9to5mac.com/category/apple/'>Apple</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gocomments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/comments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godelicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/delicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gofacebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/facebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gotwitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/twitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gostumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/stumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godigg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/digg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/goreddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/reddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/437101/" /></a> <img alt="" border="0" src="http://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=437101&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" /><img alt="" border="0" src="http://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=437101&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" />Mon, 27 Jun 2016 22:30:30 +00009to5MacRenders imagine what Apple’s new darker “Space Black” iPhone 7 might look like

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Details of a new darker Space Black iPhone color arriving with the next-generation device this fall <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/27/iphone-7-space-black-not-deep-blue/" target="_blank">have surfaced,</a> but what might the new color option look like? </span></p>
<p class="p1">Earlier today we reported that iPhone 7— if <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/27/apple-new-iphone-7-pro-air-fall/"><span class="s2">that’s what we’re calling it</span></a>— now seems <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/27/iphone-7-space-black-not-deep-blue/"><span class="s2">likely to come in Space Black</span></a> to match Apple Watch and replace the current Space Gray option. Several other reports had noted whispers of <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/09/iphone-7-to-come-in-blue-space-gray-to-be-cast-off-says-latest-rumor/"><span class="s2">a new darker color </span></a>(at one point described as <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/13/deep-blue-iphone-7/"><span class="s2">a deep blue</span></a>) and we noted today that it’s something we’d heard from one of our own sources that’s being considered.</p>

<p>The new Apple TV Remote app, which Apple TV owners have been expecting since <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2015/12/09/siri-remote-iphone/">Eddy Cue acknowledged its development</a>, is now available for testing. Available directly as an IPA installable via iTunes, the Apple TV Remote app can be accessed by registered Apple developers.</p>
<p>The Remote app has been designed to, as Apple states in its release notes, bring the “best of the Siri Remote” to iOS devices. Not only will the Remote app allow users to easily navigate the Apple TV interface, it can also be used as a controller to control basic games.</p>
<p>How well does the new Apple TV Remote app work?
