The new Run in-ears feature all of the active lifestyle features that one expects from Jaybird, including a sweatproof and water-resistant design. But in an already crowded market, will it will find a place dominated by AirPods and other major players?

I was able to get an early run with Jaybird’s latest over the last few weeks. Taken from an Apple-geared perspective, here are my thoughts on the new $180 Jaybird Run truly wireless headphones.

The bezel-less device fully immerses you in content, and compared to the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus’ bezels, it seems otherworldly.

I don’t know why I’d go for any other iPhone. By shrinking those bezels down, the iPhone X gains a significant display size increase, while remaining smaller than the iPhone 8 Plus. Outside of price, I can’t find a reason why I wouldn’t go for the iPhone X.

But a new type of case, one that Apple is calling the iPhone X Leather Folio, provides an interesting new way to protect your iPhone. more…
Wed, 13 Sep 2017 15:25:20 +00009to5MacBelkin and Mophie unveil new iPhone 8/Plus/X Qi wireless charging solutions

One of the interesting tidbits from yesterday’s Apple keynote is that the latest iPhones will support wireless charging for the first time. There are already a number of Qi-approved chargers available for purchase today that will fit the bill. But to no surprise, industry veterans Belkin and Mophie were prepared for yesterday’s announcement with two new wireless charging products.

Both brands will be rolling out these new accessories in Apple stores over the coming weeks as the latest iPhones begin to ship. Coincidentally, each product will be priced at $60 with varying designs.

Wed, 13 Sep 2017 14:14:56 +0000

Yesterday’s keynote was not without its challenges for Apple. First, thanks to our digging into the leaked code, there were few surprises.

Second, there was the fact that Apple had to kick-off with the understudy. The iPhone 8 – for all the features it borrowed from the iPhone X – looked very much like the iPhone 7, which itself looked very much like the iPhone 6. It was hard to make an iPhone 6sss seem too exciting – especially when everyone was waiting for the main act.

And then there was the failed Face ID demo. The flagship iPhone X feature falling over the first time it was demonstrated. (This was apparently because the specific demo phone hadn’t been unlocked since its last restart, and just as with Touch ID, you need to use your passcode the first time.)

But for my part, the keynote didn’t have much of a job to do …
